David Shawn Grant pleaded guilty to seven counts of dealing cocaine and will serve 25 years in prison, with two years suspended.

Jefferson County Prosecutor Chad Lewis met with Grant, 42, and his lawyer, Jeff Flores, at the Jefferson County Jail, where Grant has been lodged since his arrest in late October. Grant accepted the plea agreement in court Monday afternoon. Sentencing will be at 1 p.m. Feb. 5.
Grant, of 3818 Papermill Road, was one of the biggest cocaine dealers in Jefferson County, according to a police affidavit filed in the case.
Grant admitted to selling cocaine to confidential informants seven times between Feb. 28 and April 10, 2007. Four counts were A felonies, while three were B felonies. As part of the deal, the sentences for all seven counts will be served concurrently, Lewis said.
"It's a strong step in January to keep us on the current task of ridding our community of drugs," Lewis said.
Grant was to face trial on three different cases involving cocaine. As part of the plea agreement, the state will drop the two other cases.
