Anthony Connolly, of North Sudley Road, Mossley Hill was arrested on Wednesday evening after UK Border Agency officers searched a truck carrying a consignment of beer at Dover.They found a number of brown-taped packages containing heroin hidden in two holdalls on top of the engine block under the cab of the tractor unit.Connolly, 42, was the driver of the van searched when it arrived at Dover’s eastern docks on a ferry from Calais.He appeared before magistrates in Folkestone, Kent, yesterday and was remanded in custody until September 25.<br />Spokesman for HM Revenue and Customs in the south east Bob Gaiger said: “HMRC play a vital role in the fight to prevent illegal drugs from entering the UK.”
