Karl John Heidman,Michael Duane Williams,Robert Paul Burwell arrested by SANE

Karl John Heidman, 42, was arrested by agents from the Straits Area Narcotics Enforcement Team, also known as SANE. Heidman was charged in connection with delivery of heroin, delivery of OxyContin, possession of heroin and maintaining a drug house. He was lodged at the Otsego County Jail.Michigan State Police from the Gaylord Post and the Gaylord City Police assisted in the raid.Other recent arrests by SANE included Michael Duane Williams, 20, of St. Ignace, Mich., who was held at the Mackinac County Jail Feb. 7 after being charged with delivery of marijuana and delivery of OxyContin.Robert Paul Burwell, 20, of Alanson, was arrested Feb. 6 and charged with two counts of delivery of methadone and being a habitual offender - fourth offense.

Jack Blackamore

Jack Blackamore, 32, of Johnson Street, Dowagiac, was sent to prison for five to 40 years for possession with intent to deliver cocaine less than 50 grams.<br />He got a concurrent two to 15 years for fourth offense resisting and obstructing police at the time of his arrest on Sept. 19 last year.<br />Circuit Judge Michael Dodge was given the option to increase Blackamore's guideline range from 19 to 38 months to 38 to 76 months since it was his second offense.<br />Dodge said it was a sad day for Blackamore and that he didn't enjoy it, either. He said delivering cocaine is a major controlled substance offense.<br />The Michigan Supreme Court says that that a double penalty is more specific with major controlled substances.<br />This means that the 19 to 38 months could be doubled, and Dodge said the prosecutor asked that it be done. He said that the resisting and obstructing conviction gives the court the discretion to increase his term up to 15 years. He said this was appropriate.<br />A third conviction of second-offense possession of marijuana resulted in a guideline range of seven to 23 months which he got a jail term of seven months.<br />Blackamore was given credit for 117 days served. A fourth conviction of driving while license suspended warranted 93 days jail with credit for 93 days served.<br />All four convictions were jury trial verdicts on Jan. 8.
