Police shootouts with drug traffickers in two Rio de Janeiro slums left at least 10 people dead, including a toddler and two locals caught in the crossfire, officials said.<br />Five suspected gang members were killed in the Jacarezinho slum during several overnight firefights that ended at dawn and also caused the death of a three-year-old boy and a local man, a Secretariat of Security spokesperson said. <br />In the Vila Cruzeiro favela, as Rio's slums are known, two suspected drug traffickers and a local man were killed during a police raid on a gang hideout.
