Joseph J. Pace Jr., 20, of the 11600 block of Bernice Avenue was charged with drug-induced aggravated battery inflicting great bodily harm, police said. Bail was set at $200,000 at a hearing Monday in McHenry County Circuit Court. The woman, whose last known address was in Carpentersville, was hospitalized Aug. 17, police said. <br />The woman has since been released and should recover, said Nichole Owens, chief of criminal prosecutions for the state's attorney's office.
